The best restaurant in Florianópolis doesn't serve sea food. It is Matryoshka! A small, hidden gem in downtown serving authentic eastern European delicacies. The food is amazing and the owner was very friendly. He not only told us about the dishes themselves but shared his stories and how the restaurant came to be. Highly recommend!

My wife is Russian, we visited the restaurant during our stay on the island of Florianopolis. We loved the food, she was very happy to find genuine Eastern European cuisine, for her was just like home we enjoyed many traditional dishes. Very friendly service, the guy there speaks perfect English and helped us with the menu. I do recommend it to everyone who wants to try authentic traditional Russian/Ukrainian food.

Amazing food, very authentic eastern european, pierogis, kotlet and shuba are my favorite, ice tea is great and service is really nice. The only problem is that the restaurant is very small with only 6 tables, so if you don't mind waiting some minutes to get a table and want to try some different and delicious food, go for it.

Amazing food and service! A heartwarming place with incredible atmosphere. Once you start eating it made me travel to east eupore. I highly recommend to eat the pierogis, the one with bacon and potatoes is amazing when paired with the ice tea. The desserts are incredible. I highly recommend the Red Square!
